Don Hartley was born Hartley Donovan Polson in Kingston, Jamaica, 1959. His career in music began back in 1990 in Jamaica but he only became known for his brand of reggae a decade later in Manchester, UK after teaming up with Nucleus Roots between 2001 and 2007 with tunes like Run Come Quick, Deep Roots, Irie Meditation, Step it Up Rasta and State of Mind. However, in 2006 he returned to his Christian roots and took a seven year break from the music scene to pursue theological studies. Today Don Hartley aka Daniel can be found chanting the Saturday evening service in St Aidan's Orthodox Church, Manchester, where he is also a Catechist helping to instruct enquirers into the Christian Faith meanwhile continuing his reggae journey with renewed vigour and focus for the glory of God and the Salvation of himself and others. The message is in the music as they say.
