Still Shadey’s Croydon Baby Show takes over Shoreditch Village Underground

There are certain moments where you just had to be there. On the 6th of April, The Village Underground was filled with excitement as Still Shadey marked a moment in his career as an artist. For those who follow what is happening in the UK Christian “urban” scene, you could sense the anticipation of the evening as many made their way to the Shoreditch based venue for The Croydon Baby Tour’s London show.

With a power packed guest line up, Shadey’s show demonstrates the positive output artists can produce when working together. Partnering with other Christian brands such as the clothing companies Believe & Achieve London and Bakey Apparel, Shadey showcased the quality of different services available (check them out @believeachieveldn and @bakeyapparel).

Hip Hop and Afrobeats spinner, DJ Teeshow provided a vibe that did well to warm up the audience as he took them on a journey through the night. This began with opening performances by Jo Joey and Y Shadey. You could clearly see the camaraderie in the room as each act was well received.  One thing to note from this show was how Still Shadey brought together his contemporaries in a great way. This was a great showcase of talent with performances from Namesbliss (pictured), Melvillous, Condoseven, TTG Lolo, Happi, Guvna B, Asha Elia, Limoblaze, Tidez and SK. It was great to see a culture of honour as he took time to recognise each act.

With excellent execution from the band, Chemistry Music Group, Still Shadey was able to share his journey on stage, playing older popular songs such as Everything Changed’, as well as taking the audience through his 6th studio project “To Kill a Caterpillar”. Another thing to note was the seamless integration of many genres in one show, from Rap and Drill with songs like ‘Say Less’ to RnB, Afrobeats and even an Amapiano interlude – a work of art and a testament to the artist’s versatility and preparation behind the scenes.

Seeing all of the various groups that came to support and experience the show has proven a point that some who work behind the scenes have been saying. As we continue to put God first, collaborate with each other and create with a spirit of excellence, we are showing great potential for growth and reaching those beyond the bounds of our Christian circles.

Excited for the next step in Still Shadey‘s journey? Most definitely. His success is a win for all of us!
