Must admit I wasn’t too sure where this track was going when it started as I was hearing it for the first time. However, as I continued to listen to the lyrics and flow, it became clearer why JayEss is regarded as a powerful and dynamic emerging Christian lyricist in the UK.
‘Nice To Meet You’ tells the story of 2 relationships, one of a boyfriend and a girlfriend and the other of two best friends and is from his ‘Walking By Faith’ mixtape available for download here. Coco Dupree, another of our favourite upcoming UK Gospel singers also features on the mixtape.
JayEss speaks profoundly to his generation and beyond with lyrics that are powerful and insightful. Am sure many will be able to relate to both scenarios. The video seems to have been simplified and works well to augment and authenticate the realness of the lyrics. As a big fan of the likes of Lecrae, Da Truth and Mali Music to name a few US powerhouse Christian rappers, it was refreshing and inspiring to again listen to UK talent making waves in the industry.
