With a total of 83 tracks submitted, the July UK Christian Chart has seen another phenomenal month of quality music from talented artists and musicians. This week we announced the Afrobeat category via a new and exciting partnership with the multi-award-winning Nigerian DJ Horphuray.
DJ Horphuray is a leading light in the global Gospel movement. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, he currently works with 96.9 COOL FM as the official Christian DJ, where he hosts his show tagged #SundayPraiseJam.
He was led to fill the void in the Gospel DJ industry in Africa and other countries. His mantra has always been Romans 1:16 ‘For I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ’.
DJ Horphuray is the first African/Nigerian to be featured as one of the Top 5 Christian Rap DJs in the world alongside Lecrae’s official DJ – DJ Promote.
He was also nominated for Radio Program of Excellence UK AGMMA 2019 and has gone on to win several prominent awards, some of which are: Best DJ In Nigeria TNMA 2018, West African DJ of the Year 2019, Most Creative DJ 2019, MML Awards 2020 and also Best Gospel DJ Nigerian DJ 2021.
DJ Horphuray, also called THE GOOD MUSIC DJ, is versatile and has great interpersonal skills as evidenced by his numerous major gigs and his work with brands at home and abroad. He has also worked with Ada Ehi, Limoblaze, Bouqui, RooftopMcs, Samsong, Holy Culture USA, GospelUrbain FRANCE and many others.
