Amy Faith Morley has recently released her new charity single ‘Henry’s Song’, a heartfelt tribute to her baby nephew Henry. The song was penned during a time when Henry was fighting for his life and battle with mitral valve stenosis of the heart in hospital. The song release aims to bring hope and comfort to those facing similar challenges.
“When you cannot reach a loved one who is suffering, you feel so helpless, and all you can do is pray. My prayer became a song, and I pray this song will bring hope.”
As the COVID-19 pandemic swept through the world, Amy Faith Morley’s baby nephew Henry’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with mitral valve stenosis of the heart. What initially seemed like minor concerns over reflux quickly spiralled into a daunting battle for Henry’s life. The uncertainty surrounding his condition was incredibly difficult for the family, and it was painful for Amy to know that her brother and sister-in-law were enduring every parent’s nightmare in such isolating conditions.
During Henry’s hospitalization, there were moments of agonizing waiting, uncertainty, and utter despair as he needed resuscitating twice. Her brother and sister-in-law went through the worst kind of waiting imaginable for any parents, staying strong and taking turns visiting little Henry. Because it was lockdown, the wider family sent WhatsApp messages of support and encouragement, as well as children’s stories.
“Waiting is very difficult, when we find ourselves in uncertain situation like this. Feeling helpless, I drew closer to God in prayer. It was during one of these interceding moments that a melody came to me, a song of faith, that everything is going to be ok.“
In Isaiah 46:4 we read “I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you”. This message is one which spoke to Amy in her situation and helped inspire lyrics for this beautiful new single.
‘Henry’s Song’ is now available on all major digital music platforms. All proceeds from iTunes, Spotify, and YouTube will directly support the Young at Heart charity’s vital work, ensuring other families receive the same support that helped Henry so much!
