A gathering uniting Christians from across the nation to pray for healing and revival is set to take place at Emmanuel Centre, Westminster on January 6th 2024. ‘The Cry’, hosted by Reverend Dr Betty King, will bring together a range of influential voices from across the Body of Christ to lead thousands of people in a day of prayer, intercession and worship, in order to trigger revival across the nations.
This year the gathering is focused on Healing – praying for healing and reconciliation in the nations and across the different generations & age groups. Confirmed speakers include David Vincent (The Send & London Diocese); Apostle Matthew Kuruvilla (TNT UK); Evangelist Fergus Scarfe (GOD TV UK); Pastor Sandra Nelson; Revd Namjin Kim, Evangelist Virginnia Logan (CFAN); Dr Garrick Wilson; Pastor Ming and Pastor David. Worship leaders on the day include Pastor Dr Sam Lee, Noel Robinson, Lou Fellingham, Junior Garr, Lucy Grimble, Sam Daniel, Ade Adefala and more.
Now in its second year, ‘The Cry’ gatherings unites thousands across denominations, ethnicities, cultures, drawing people from all over the world including Russia, Ghana, Norway, Portugal, India, Brazil and Singapore to name a few. Dr Betty King, said:
“This year our focus is on Healing; healing in the nations, in our communities, in our homes and in our own lives. Now more than ever we need healing. There is so much happening in the world right now and only God can bring the necessary healing and reconciliation, as we unite in prayer for His divine intervention in various situations globally.
This year we have been very intentional about bringing together a wide range of diverse contributors from across different cultures, ethnicities and denominations to pray and worship because this reflects the beauty and true unity within the Body of Christ.
As well as praying for the nations, we will also pray for different groups of people and their needs; such as those who require physical or emotional /inner healing and those desiring reconciliation and healing within their families.
As we enter into this 2024, it’s so important to take the time to heal. We can’t go into the New Year with ‘old garments’ / baggage. It’s time to heal.”
The gathering also continues in its ongoing commitment to pray for young people to know their identity in Christ and for refreshment in the Body of Christ- the focus of last year’s Wembley gathering. For the younger generation specifically, the event will tackle a range of issues including mental health, addiction, sexual impurity and lack of identity with the hope of bringing wholeness and healing.
The gathering also aims to strengthen those who are tired and discouraged – empowering the Body of Christ at large. ‘The Cry’ continues to gather momentum, having hosted several events last year, across the UK, including Cambridge University, and with several events planned internationally for 2024 including Ghana.
